Early Learning Preschool Program

Mitchell's Place preschool was built from the ground up to support children with and without autism, so every child has what they need to grow. Your child doesn't have to fit the classroom. The classroom fits them.

Our Approach

A Look Into Our ELP Curriculum

Our curriculum is built around how children with autism actually learn. Every lesson, routine, and transition is intentional, designed to build communication, social connection, and independence through structured play and evidence-based teaching methods proven to work.

Autism Spectrum Students in the ELP

Children in our early learning program build the social, communication, and academic skills they need before kindergarten. We track progress carefully and adjust each child's plan so nothing gets left behind.

  • Communication Skills

Children practice expressing needs, making requests, and connecting with peers through guided, play-based learning.

  • Social Development

Structured peer interaction helps children build friendships and navigate shared spaces with growing confidence.

Neurotypical Students in the ELP

Neurotypical children benefit from this environment too. Inclusive classrooms build social flexibility, empathy, and communication skills that children carry well beyond preschool. Families choose Mitchell's Place not because their child needs extra support, but because they want their child learning alongside kids with different strengths, different ways of seeing the world, and different paths to the same milestones.

  • Confidence grows through real peer friendships

Children build real friendships through structured play, learning to connect, take turns, and belong alongside their peers.

  • Language develops through natural back-and-forth play

Children learn to communicate by doing what children do best: playing, talking, and trying again together.

Accreditation & Standards

Mitchell's Place is accredited by the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence, a nationally recognized standard for ABA therapy providers. That credential means clinical rigor, ongoing staff training, and outcomes held to a measurable bar that goes well beyond state licensing requirements.

  • Our son began Mitchell’s Place in fall of 2021, he started speech and occupational therapy. He began ABA therapy last November in 2022. We are absolutely amazed at the progress and accomplishments he has made and continues to surprise us every week. We have used the words “life changing” because it is absolutely the truth. We are so grateful for all the amazing therapist and staff at Mitchell’s Place. Our son is making his way, and they are providing him with all the tools he needs to succeed.

  • Mitchell’s Place has been a blessing to our family. The education and therapy that has been provided to our son and us has made a huge impact that will last a lifetime.

  • There’s a quote I think describes my feelings about Mitchell’s Place. “As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person”. The diagnosis of Autism threw a challenge to our family to find the best services available for my son Mitchell. Realizing the options were limited, we decided not only to help our son but to help other families as well by opening Mitchell’s Place in 2005. The outcomes speak for themselves and we are proud to be a part of the Mitchell’s Place Family.
